I recently came across this error ‘Invalid API Request’ when trying the change the network address of the LAN configured at a clients site.
I clicked on Networks and then clicked EDIT.

You can see here the network is 192.168.1.1/24.

I updated the network to 192.168.0.1/24 and clicked on Save.

This kept giving the error message ‘There was an error saving the LAN network invalid API request’.. Well that not exactly helpful!

After some time I realised that I had a device on the network configured with a static IP. Once you remove all of the static IP’s on the network you can change the network address without any errors.
The next step was working out how to list all devices with a static IP address. Here is the answer..
- Click on Insights from the left hand menu.
- Select Known Clients from the first drop down list and select ‘All’ from the one next to it.
- Next click on Static IP.
- This will list all devices set on the network with a static IP.
- Simply click on each of them and un-select the fixed IP option and press Save.
